Firing costs

Earthenware: £75.00

Stoneware: £100.00

An additional technicians loading fee of £10 may apply if you require full kiln hire.

Individual pieces can be added to another kiln firing if you are not in a rush to have your work back.

Small piece (up to mug size): £2.00

Medium piece (serving bowl size): £4.00

Large piece (sculptural piece or large vase): starting at £8.00

Please note: All customers will be required to sign a firing agreement before leaving your work. We will discuss the cone and temperature that your work will be fired to and the type of clay and glazes you have used. Bourn pottery reserves the right to refuse to fire your work.

Whilst every care is taken in firing your work, please remember that handmade ceramics can be subject to cracking and warping during firing. Bourn Pottery cannot accept any responsibility for any damage to your work resulting from firing.

There is a £10 removal charge for small glaze runs (to cover the cost of chiselling or grinding). If your work causes any other damage to the kiln (shelf, elements, ceramic bricks, thermocouple etc.) you will also be liable for repair costs.
